Sunday Night Serving

Pastor Brian has asked the members of CIC to give 1 hour of service to our church per week.  One way to do this is to attend Sunday Night Serving.  It begins Sept. 7, so please mail your cards in this week.

AWANA starts Sept. 7

This is a great way to do your Sunday Night Serving.  For more information, please see Janette Crouch.

Prayer Cards for Children
We received a tremendous response from our request to have everyone fill out a yellow prayer card for those wishing to have their children prayed for. We got over 50 cards! Now we need as many prayer warriors as we can get to attend on Mon. evenings at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary to help us pray over each child mentioned. The more people we have, the shorter the time needed. Please send us your card if you haven't already. There is not a deadline for this.

JOY Club
The JOY (Just Older Youth) Club will have its next get together on Friday, Sept. 19 at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. A sign-up sheet is located in the foyer. Please come and bring a friend (Adults Only please).

Adult Fellowship
The next night of bowling has not been scheduled yet.  We meet at the Boulevard Fun Zone on Eastern Blvd. in Clarksville. Games are $2 each and shoe rental is $1. Join us for lots of fun and fellowship.

Save your ink cartridges

If you use HP, Lexmark, or Dell ink cartridges, you can turn in your empty cartridges to CIC and we will get credit towards our ink usage. For every 5 cartridges we collect, we will get a refilled cartridge free.  You may drop off your cartridges in Debbie Dockter's office.

Read all about it!
Did you know that free Christian newspapers are available in the Foyer?  Pick up a complimentary copy of Sword of the Lord and The Good News Monthly.  The Good Shepherd Business Directory also is available.

Do you have a relative, friend, or neighbor that you would like for one of our leaders to visit? If so, please fill out the Operation Go visitation card located in your pew and drop it in the offering plate.

The NCOC needs donations!

The North Clark Outreach Center used to feed 30 to 40 families and they are now feeding 80 to 90 families.  The items they currently need the most are:

Cake mixes

Muffin mixes

Corn bread mixes

Saltine crackers

Condiments (ketchup,   mustard, etc)

All donations are greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your help!

Helping Hands
This new ministry, to help those in our church family who may have a need from time to time, got off to a great start. If you haven't volunteered, but would be willing to hear about these needs as they arise, and only respond to those you are able to help with, please fill out the purple Helping Hands sheet located in the foyer. You will only be placed on an e-loop to be informed of the needs. You will not be called. For those without email, this information will be placed on the hallway bulletin board. You will be able to respond to these needs as you would like. We really need some more men because some of the needs may be car repairs, home repairs, etc. If you have a need, or know of someone in our church family who may have a need, please let us know by emailing Pam Drake @ communicator7@sbcglobal.net or by phone (502)439-1401, (812)282-4580. If you prefer to have your request remain anonymous, let Pastor Brian or Debbie Dockter know.

Lost something?

The lost and found box is located on the table in the main hallway.

Creation Museum partner
CIC is a church partner with the Creation Museum. This gives our members $2.50 off General Admission and 15% off annual passes. Just take a church bulletin with you to receive your discount. More information is posted on the Missions bulletin board in the main hallway.

Children’s Ministry News
We are looking for 1-2 workers for Junior Kids Church (ages 3-kindergarten). Just let Marcye Griffith know (812-289-1364) if you are willing to help out. It would only be once every 6 weeks.

We are planning a dinner for all of the workers in the Children's Ministries (and their spouse). This includes Junior Kids Church, Kid's Church, and Awana. It will be on September 20th at 6 pm in the fellowship hall. We are hoping to have an adult only evening but if you have trouble finding child care just let us know and we will see what we can do. Just sign up on the form in the foyer.

Gifts from home
Brandon Helton is currently serving his 2nd tour in Iraq. There are 3-4 other soldiers in his platoon that have no family and receive no mail. We will be collecting food for these soldiers until they arrive home. Some ideas are: canned foods (Veinna sausages, canned meats etc.), beef jerky, candy, cookies, peanuts, chips, crackers, water mixers (Crystal Light®, Kool-aid®), magazines, letters, cards, etc. There are no limits on foods
as long as it doesn't spoil or burst.

There will be a box placed in the foyer and items will be sent every 2 weeks. You can also offer cash to purchase these items. For questions call Lisa Evans (282-1044 or 502-819-2778).

Sermon recordings available

To request a sermon, complete the sermon tape or CD request section of a Communication Card and place it in the request box in the Foyer or call in your request to (812) 256-0143.

Women’s study

The Women's Bible Study meets Tuesdays at 10 a.m. in the High School LifeGroup room.

Did you know?
On the first and second Thursday of the month, members of CIC visit the residents of the Sellersburg Health & Rehabilitation Center (SHARC) at 6:30 pm. There is inspirational singing and a devotional message. We would love for you to join us!
